This book is a fairly good introduction to the Vikings. In its favour, the book is a pretty thorough introduction to Viking culture and history. However, it is rather sparsely illustrated and the translation (I think that it was originally a Swedish work) is heavy, dull and not always particularly clear, meaning that reading this is a bit of a chore/5(54).
